Hey guys what's up its me Dalvin here from YouTube.com/tech time central. In today's
video I have a video on the 5 best apps for your iPhone, iPod touch and iPad for early
2014. Starting with number 1 we have tuner for YouTube music. This app does something
that most people already do and that's use YouTube to find and play music. The only difference
is that with tuner it's easier to search for a song and it only plays the sound which you
can control from the lock screen unlike the regular YouTube app. The app also has a nice
look to it and like I mentioned it's a lot easier to search for songs since it only gives
you the title of any video on YouTube so you can use this for something like long podcasts
to just listen to the audio and it gives you some suggestions for artists to listen to.
You can even make playlists to automatically play your favorite songs with a tap. This
is a pretty interesting app that's free on the app store. At number 2 we have an app
called Winston. Winston is sort of like a mix between siri and flip board. It's a news
apps that finds news from the categories you choose and reads them to you in a sort of
robotic voice. Here listen for yourself. Besides news you can also sign into your Twitter or
Facebook account in the app and it will automatically read the most relevant posts in your feed.
It can even tell you the weather if you enable your location. Winston is an interesting free
app that provides a useful service. Number 3 is another free app called SwiftKey note.
The app is made by the same creators of the Android keyboard on the play store although
it won't let you customize the look of the keyboard and it doesn't have the swipe to
type feature either but it does have the same prediction software. Swift key note does a
good job of keeping track of what you've already written and uses it to figure out what you'll
write and saves you time by letting you just tap that word or phrase. The app also syncs
up with Evernote so you will never lose your notes. Nearing the end at number 4 we have
free app my script calculator. This one is pretty well known already but if you don't
know my script calculator is a calculator app that let's you write out your problem
instead of just typing it out and does an acceptable job at recognizing any type of
handwriting even if it is sloppy. They updated their look not too long ago and it just keeps
getting better for quick math or longer problems. Last at number 5 we have the cosmos app that
is actually a TV tie in app from the recently premiered TV show of the same name hosted
by Neil degrasse Tyson. Right now it has some cool little exploration scenes and animations
going for it but it's still mainly an app to either see clips from the show or outsource
your attention to watch the full episodes on fox's own video service. It's a pretty
simple app to check out in your spare time and if you haven't you should definitely watch
the TV show. The musical score and animations do a pretty great job at conveying a story
while still getting the concepts across. So that ends the video here. Last week commenter
Mariah Perez said that she uses the same combination of SoundCloud and play music that I do as
well. Both of them are great apps and anyone should try them if they listen to large amounts
of music at any given time. If you want to be featured in next week's video just comment
down below telling me what are some interesting apps that you have on your phone. I'll reply
to any comment as soon as possible now since YouTube now let's you reply to comments on
Android. Go ahead and follow me on Twitter and plus one my Google plus page for more
information about anything really. Also subscribe for more videos and click on the screen or
check the link below for more app videos. Thanks for watching and I'll see you guys
next time.
