Hi, I’m Matt Grant from Sailrite. If you have a project and the main component is fabric,
come with me, I want to introduce you to Sunbrella performance fabrics and show you why they're
so great for both indoor and outdoor living.
Most boaters know Sunbrella as the fabric choice for outdoor covers.
Visit any marina and the boat covers, sail covers, dodgers, bimini and bimini boots,
and even the seating covers are made from Sunbrella fabric.
Why you might ask?
Well, Sunbrella is fade resistant, water resistant, mold and mildew proof, highly cleanable, and
its UV resistant.
Plus it carries the skin cancer seal of recommendation.
Hey, Tabby, may I have a glass of water too?
>> Tabby: Sure!
Oh, that looks great! Thank you very much!
>> Tabby: You are Welcome!
>> Matt: Have a seat with me.
So, to sum it up, Sunbrella lasts and looks good through out it's life, with the added
benefit of protecting you from the sun!
The same qualities that makes Sunbrella ideal for your boat, make it ideal for your home.
In fact, you guessed it, the number one fabric choice for home and commercial awnings is
Sunbrella
and if your home happens to be on wheels Sunbrella makes perfect RV roll out awnings.
Sunbrella outdoor fabrics make up two collections: the Marine grade, and the Awning collection.
Both collections lend themselves perfectly to shelter and cover type applications were
high levels of water resistance are important.
Extend your outdoor living space and benefit from the energy savings that a beautiful awning
can provide.
You'll love the enhancement to your home's street appeal!
But what about patio furniture and interior upholstery?
Can I use Sunbrella?
The Marine and Awning collections have all the right properties except for one. They
are not soft. In fact, they're somewhat coarse and heavy.
Although you may find Sunbrella's Marine and Awning collection used for outdoor furniture
on a cruise ship
or lounge chairs around the hotel pool were ultimate durability is necessary, in most
cases the fabric is not as comfortable as traditional or ordinary furniture fabric.
Here's an example of a pillow made from Sunbrella's Awning collection and you can see that the
material is somewhat stiff.
Enter Sunbrella Furniture Fabrics.
The Furniture Fabric collections maintain all the great features of Marine and Awning
collection and they have a soft hand.
Sunbrella Furniture Fabric is ideal for patio furniture, sun rooms, and even your living
room sofa.
With hundreds of varieties to choose from there's a color, pattern, and texture for
everyone.
Let me re-emphasize that Sunbrella Furniture Fabric is comfortable easy to clean and extremely
fade resistant,
making it the perfect fabric for families and pets.
Sunbrella is made from solution dyed acrylic where the color pigments are added to the
Sunbrella yarn even before its produced.
The result is a fabric with color throughout that will not fade or wash away, similar to
the coloring of a carrot.
Peel the carrot and the color remains.
The color in ordinary fabric is added to the surface of the yarn or fabric, which means
that it only penetrates the outer layer.
Over time this coloring can fade or wash away. Think radish.
Vibrant red color on the outside, but neutral or white on the inside.
Sunbrella fabric.
Ordinary fabric.
Sunbrella is truly the ultimate in performance fabric. Just think of the possibilities!
