People´s Summit Rio+20 for Social and Climate Justice
Green Economy is not only commodifying the forest’s wood
but its capacity to capture and store greenhouse gasses.
What we are seeing behing Green Economy are nature’s throbs and proccesses
which they want to identify, value and market, appropriating these functions
and generate great turnovers for a speculative sector which we recognize.
It’s the same sector that has speculated with housing in the U.S.,
with foodstuffs and now wants to make enormous wealth speculating with environmental services nature gives us.
The People’s Summit has achieved acknowledging the lies behind this Green Economy
helping to make it known and understood.
And that is already a success of the People’s Summit.
Now a new step has to be taken and is leaving with a concrete plan of action
not only rejecting Green Economy but of action against the backbone which is promoting Green Economy
which is no other than International Financial Capitalism.
Banks in all its modes who are the real negociators who want to make this great business with nature.
Thus, we have to unify our campaigns,
Food Sovereignty, Defense of Water, Indigenous Rights
and direct them against the International Financial Capital.
Up to now in other countries we have achieved
getting rid of Transnationals, Mining Projects, but banks...
Banks up to now society as a whole has not told them “enough”, “stop!".
That is our challenge,
leaving here with a project that involves all sectors
sectors to say “Stop” to all International Financial Capital.
The time has come to be conscious that we are part of a whole.
