Okay, now I'm going to show you hot to do a straight fringe to embellish a ready-made
pillow. What we'll need for this project is an assortment of seed beads. These are the
small glass beads, and I'm going to be using some bugle beads. That's the longer glass
beads. Now it's nice to have a tray like this, a sectional tray, especially when you're using
several different kind of beads but you can also use the top of a plastic container like
this to put your beads in. It has a small lip, so it doesn't get in the way of your
hands and your needle while you're collecting the beads on your needle. And it's an inexpensive
alternative to buying these special trays. The trays you can find in specialty beading
stores and sometimes kitchenware, you can find some nice little sectioned trays. We'll
also be using a thread. This is a polyester thread. You want to make sure it's a strong
smooth thread, with no lumps of imperfections. You can also find specialty beading threads
at craft stores or in beading stores. You want to use a beading needle. It's a very
thin needle with a very small head. You can also use a number ten sewing needle. You want
to have some small scissors for snipping, some pins for marking, and a ruler for measuring.
I think we've got everything, let's get started.
