Hi in this video we'll continue talking about the AdVance male sling, we'll talk specifically
about the success rate of the AdVance male sling in the two largest published series
on the topic, then we will talk about the complications of the AdVance male sling and
finally we'll address two specific points which are the outcome of the male sling in
patients with severe incontinence and also the outcome of the male sling in patients
who previously had radiotherapy. so the male sling is a promising new treatment
for patients who have stress urinary incontinence
after prostate surgery, it's currently offered for patients with mild to moderate incontinence as the bulk of the evidence suggests that
it doesn't work as well in patients
with severe incontinence and also
it is still debatable as whether to offer the male sling to patients who previously had radiotherapy and perhaps a
larger randomised controlled trial is needed to provide
a definite answer as to the merits of doing the male sling procedure in patients who previously
had radiotherapy. I hope you found this video useful and educational and stay tuned for
my future videos.
