I'd say the best thing about Leadership House was getting to live in a group of 30 people who were all really excited to do stuff together.
I knew that I would be living with 29 other people, who also had similar goals or aspirations.
You definitely get to know everyone really well. Every weekend, every night is just really fun because there are people around all of the time.
Right the beginning it was a really good experience. The first day of school we met, all 30 of us, there was always somebody to go to the dining hall with and grab lunch.
I have created bonds which I hope to carry on for the rest of my life. They've been great and I've met so many friends who I hope will stay true, and I'll see them for the next 4 years and, I'm sure theres many times to come.

Because we do all live with eachother, it's really easy to feel at ease in class. The class is really fun, it's really interactive,it's a lot of personal skits.
We learned more about leadership skills, and how to become a better and more effective leader.
It gives hands on experience and is not something that's currently available to many other students in such a close-knit setting.
Overall the class has just been great in learning and meeting all these people and creating networks with teachers.
Class is, just in general, probably the best part of the leadership house. It's a great time.

I chose to be in leadership house because I really enjoy getting involved in the community.
I wanted to go out there and do things I woudn't normally be able do, or I wouldn't have the same opportunities if I was not part of Leadership House.
One thing we did was the Polar Plunge. It was freezing cold water in December and we dove right into the water. It was just a really fun opportunity to raise money for the Special Olympics.
I chose to participate in Relay for Life because it works with colleges against cancer. We just had an overnight event everybody came together , we raised money to help fight cancer.
I was on the Stay-Up UB planning committee, it was an all night dance marathon that went until 2 o'clock in the morning. This year the cause was the Pajama Program, and it's to get younger kids warm pajamas. Which sounds really basic, but it's so practical.
Community service is a huge part of what we do.
