My name is Karina
Alvarado and I am an activist.

I came to visit UC Davis.
I, as soon as I stepped onto campus, I just loved it.
The atmosphere The atmosphere was beautiful.
Everybody was very welcoming and I also saw
that there were a lot of resources that
could help me graduate and help me have a very positive experience here at UC Davis.

I've been extremely lucky with the different positions that I found on campus
so I as I mentioned Mentioned I worked for chicano chicana studies department.
And there I got to meet a lot of faculty and staff.
and, a faculty was Adela de la Torre
who is now the vice chancellor of student affairs.
And, I, I kept a close Connection with her.
And then also I work for the Cross Culture Center.
And I've had, different staff who are into
activism and have even advocated for the Cross
Culture Center in the hunger strike in the history of UC Davis and UC Davis activism.
So what it's really It's really easy to do, work that
you're very passionate about because you have a lot of support.
The world needs more activists.
UC Davis needs you.
