Hi everyone
I hope you're enjoying the warmer weather in this last month of spring.
A lot of people around the MyBudget office are starting to talk about getting fit for summer,
and I thought it would be a good opportunity to talk about
looking after your health and fitness when you're living on a budget.
People often think that the only way to get fit is to have a gym membership
or go to classes.
The reality though is that we already have everything we need at our fingertips to be healthy.
It just takes a bit of creative thinking.
So here are some ideas.
You can get a cardio workout virtually anywhere.
You can walk, jog or ride outside.
At work you can take the stairs instead of the lift.
You could get off the bus a few stops early and have a 20 minute walk before you get to work, or home, or maybe even both.
Resistance training can be done using your own body weight or a few dumbells.
You'll find heaps of second hand weights and home gym equipment on Gumtree.
The internet can be a really great source of inspiration too. If you like having a guided workout, there are plenty of free workout routines online.
Buy local seasonal fruit and veg, not only is it nice and fresh when it's in an abundance,
but it's usually the cheapest time to buy it too.
Stay tuned and we'll also be including a link to some great seasonal recipes later this month.
Well that's all for now, I hope you get a chance to enjoy this great spring weather.
Next month we'll talk about setting your financial goals for 2014.
Have a great November!
