This here is
version 2.0 of the nitinol motor.
I don't everything set up perfectly
yet, but you can get the gist
of how the thing works.
It's really, at this point, just down to a few
minor adjustments.
You can at least get the basis of how it works.
See it's really close to just taking off on it's own.
It just needs some adjustment on the left side here.
Now what this thing needs is a deeper basin,
and some adjustment of the Springs.
You can see it kind of does what it's supposed to do, and you get the basis of what I'm trying to do here?
The thing you'll notice about my channel
if you spend any time on it, is I'm just as likely to record my
failures as I am my successes. I generally don't hold things back.
Now again, the main problem with this,
the way I have it set up right now, is these basins
are not deep enough.
So the temperature equalizes to quickly.
And the springs need some adjustment as well.
It's fun though.
It comes really close to taking off here for a minute.
I might need to balance these
pieces down here a little bit too.
At the end of this I'm going to put some clips
of some of the other versions this that I attempted before I got to this point.
Most of which I never
even took to the testing stage. I'd start to assemble them and realize that it just
wasn't gonna
do what I wanted it to, and I'd stop before I even tested them.
However, I'll go ahead and share those with you just so that you know
that I've actually been working on this.
Heat engines are
actually kind of fun to play around with.
Thanks for watching.
