I'm Sashi De and I'm the founder of SD Media.
We're a television production company and we focus on producing original content for the global market.
Our work takes us literally everywhere on the globe.
From the highest possible roads in the world to the deserts, to our current production on board the world's largest cargo freighter.
We set sail from Rotterdam and we're now making our way on to Morocco.
Today, creating cutting edge media for global broadcasters means that we have to be on the forefront both creatively and technically.
All our cameras shoot on solid state media. Gone are the days of tape.
But it's not just the cameras that have to be up to the task. The peripherals have to be as well.
This is a Cannon EOS 60D and it's configured to be running on an aftermarket software which upgrades the
bitrate and bandwidth from the stock 50mbps to 100(mbps), and we exclusively run the Kingston UHS class SD card
which we found them to be extremely reliable.
And it will cope with the upgraded bandwidth.
The end result for our production is higher quality footage and a memory card that transfers the media blazing fast.
As you can imagine, because of our dynamic work environment we need our equipment and gear to keep up with the task of what we do.
That means reliability, efficiency, stability and performance are paramount.
For example, this workstation grade laptop that we're running is used to ingest, log, preview and edit footage right on the field.
As opposed to a traditional 2.5 inch hard drive that laptops usually come with, we run a Kingston V+200 solid state hard drive.
The advantages, well, it's supremely fast, it's impervious to vibrations, temperature changes, shock, the lot.
This is a dream come true for a crew that demands high-performance equipment in some of the most inhospitable conditions on the planet.
We've also been able to use SSD to safely store our footage with the external enclosure, making it super transportable.
The benefits of these are vastly superior to a normal drive.
We can now ship out our episodes to our editors back in our studio and not have to worry about losing the data.
There's no moving parts, there is nothing to break or jar loose, it's solid state.
As a content creator, our visual lifestyle stories are the currency of our business.
Storing and processing these are critical to our success.
Incorporating ultra fast gear such ask Kingston's solid state drives and memory cards give us a distinct advantage while on location or in the studio.
Even though it's hard to control all shooting elements, at least we have the trust in confidence in the gear that makes or breaks our program.
Thanks Kingston for the reliability that we now have on our workflow, and congratulations on your 25 years of being in business, and for helping companies such as SD Media.
