Hi. Welcome to Expert Village. I am Gretchen Soares with Butterfly Boutique. Ok, now that
we have prepared for the zipper, we are going to inset the zipper. We?re going to do this
by folding this in half and finding the center. And we?re also going to find the center of
the zipper by again folding it in half and working the center. Now we?re going to open
the zipper. We?re going to match up the midway mark and then we?re going to pin it in place
going out from the midway mark. Ok, to put an invisible zipper in we are going to change
our presser foot from a standard sewing size presser foot to a zipper foot. And putting
that presser foot down as close to the zipper teeth as you can. We?re going to stitch using
a standard straight stitch making sure to back stitch in the beginning and the end.
This is very important on zippers to trim your string. So that these don?t get caught
up in the zipper because that will break it. And we?re going to zip this together now.
So that we can match up the other size. Ok, so we?re going to want to lead this out nice
and straight. And put this other piece on it face down. So that the inside, or the finished
the sewn edges all go to the inside on the finished product. Once your zipper is pinned
in place you are going to want to once again unzip the zipper for ease of putting it in.
And go back to the sewing machine and insert.
