Hey, I'm Jamie. And I'm Josh. And we're two Spartan Guides here to give you a preview of UNCG's
beautiful campus
The Elliott University Center, or the EUC,
is our main student hub here on campus. It houses many different food courts, our university
bookstore, and student organization offices
The EUC west lawn is a great place for students to hang out. It is also where
all of our homecoming concerts and events take place. The reason we started here is
because this is where you'll meet when you come on your official campus tour.
College Avenue is a pedestrian walkway that splits the residential side of campus
from the actual academic side of campus.
Every year during the first week of classes we have Fall Kickoff here on College Avenue.
During that first day of classes you can come out here, hang out with friends, get free food,
t-shirts, and see what UNCG has to offer.
Our Sullivan Science Center, named after a past chancellor, is one of the most modern facilities for
science teaching and research in the state.
It houses many different classrooms, lecture halls, and the labs are built to hold no more
than 24 students per classroom.
Foust is the only remaining building from our original campus, and it is part of the National Registry for
Historic Sites.
Foust houses many different majors and areas of study, but also our study abroad and honors
programs. Our study abroad program here at UNCG is the largest one-for-one exchange
program in North Carolina. In front of the Foust Building, you have Foust Park. A lot of students
like to hang out and study in the park, but also it's home to our Graduate Walk.
The Moore Humanities and Research Administration Building, or the MHRA, is an academic
building here at UNCG.
It houses many different majors, a computer lab, and a writing and speaking center,
which are two really great free tutoring options here for students at UNCG.
Yum Yum Better Ice Cream has been on our campus for over a 100 years
and has moved from several different locations, as our university has expanded. It's known for its homemade ice cream and
delicious hotdogs.
UNCG is home to many campus traditions. Two of these are the Rawk and the clock.
Legend has it, that if you walk underneath the clock tower, you will not graduate on time.
The Rawk serves as a UNCG message board.
This is our final stop, the Visitor's Center and the Undergraduate Admissions Office.
We hope that we've given you a glimpse of why UNCG is so great, but this is just the
beginning.
We want to invite you to sign up for an official campus tour to come get
the full UNCG experience!
