The Prophet (saws) was astonishing!
Keep good manners with Prophets (as), they are not normal men.
When he (saws) was sitting in a gathering
you cannot imagine it.
It is as if people are seeing him (saws) in their homes.
They use to gather around him
just to see his beauty.
But nowadays people have no mind.
They have no mind, O Shaykh!
There are books about the life of the Prophet (saws)
for the scholars, and there are other books of the life of the Prophet (saws)
that are for the common people.
Don't give the ones that are for the scholars, no!
The simplest thing, is read it & explain to them.
Don't teach Fiqh/(deep understanding of Islamic Law)
or other related Islamic Shariat matters.
Leave that.
These are instructions. People like it, their hearts lean
to loving the Prophet (saws). We are concerned
about things that
connect the hearts of the servants to
the heart of the Beloved (saws) with love, glorification,
honouring & saluting.
This is important.
I used to have 12 volumes,
about the life of Holy Prophet (saws).
G: Mawlana means the ones of Sham, they are 13 volumes from Imam Salhani.
M: No, no these are from Istanbul,
from the Ottoman scholars.
12 volumes writings about the life of the Prophet (saws).
I will remember insha-Allah the name of the 12 volumes.
The life of the Prophet (saws) other than
about his life, nobody is listening.
Whatever you say, the person who reads doesn't understand what he is reading.
Astaizzu Billah
"Faqsusi Al-Qasasa La `allahum Yatafakkaruna" (7:176)
This is an important matter.
"So relate the stories..." It's a holy verse.
"..perhaps they may reflect" (7:176)
Yes, is it not like this?
And this person wrote a book about the stories
in the Holy Qur'an.
He was a professor
at the University, in the Islamic department.
Everything that was related with the stories
in the Holy Qur'an
he said "I wrote a book, about
the stories are in the Holy Qur'an."
Everything about the stories in the Holy Qur'an, is in the book (he wrote).
All of a sudden..all of a sudden,
it was inspired to my heart,
I remembered about "Faqsusi Al-Qasasa...
"Faqsusi Al-Qasasa La`allahum Yatafakkaruna" (7:176)
That person said
I saw many things, but I never came across this verse!
He was astonished!
He was astonished! That is an important
order. The Holy Qur'an does not say
teach them Fiqh /(deep understanding of Islamic Law), teach them Aqaid/Creed.
But there is an order about "relating the stories..."(7:176)
Relate the stories that may be,
either mentioned in the Holy Qur'an,
or in the Honorable Prophet's (saws) Hadiths, or
Alif Lam, "Faqsusi Al-Qasasa.." (definite article "Al") refers
in general to all types of stories
of any time or roots.
G: The stories related by Salihin, Salih Al Salih...M: we don't object.
It is not your responsibility to verify the sources, just "Relate the Stories".
Generally...meaning
all the stories. Maybe you
relate a story that people may
think about and take something from
that benefits them.
Don't not relate the stories
and examine them to see if they happened or it did not happen, no!
G: OK. M: This is important.
And if you speak, O Shaykh Kayyal
about the Holy Prophet (saws), then
the variety of Awliya'/saints
it is full. The history books are full also,
bring it all out to people.
Just, to remind them, so perhaps they may reflect.
This is important O Shyakh. G: At your orders Sayidi.
In the Khutba/sermon, if you say this & that
it will let the hearts of people to lean towards Akhirat/hereafter.
Or they can take wisdom from what happened
in the past.
They can learn and think about them.
This is important.
Wa Min Allah Al Tawfiq. Ya Rabbi tawba Ya Rabb.
Tawba Ya Rabbi. Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim...(dua)
A story..
There about the governor of the people of Homs
and the companion of the Prophet (saws) Sayidina Omar (ra).
He was the most famous..
and most pious among the companions of the Prophet (saws).
The most pious one.
He left from Madina al Munawwara & went.
He crossed the desert
and reached (Syria) and said "if the governor -
if your governor..where is your governor..."
But all of them are a bit light headed.
If you spend 40 days with a group of people, you become from them.
I spent 5 times 40 days
with them
and therefore in my heart sometimes there is
an attraction towards the people of Homs.
One from those attracted to the Divine Love/Maj'zub
they once brought him a type of cheese to eat.
He didn't like it & said "what is that! I don't like that cheese."
He wanted meat. He was from the people of Homs.
The people of Homs, the governor came (to the companion)
he was there as a governor for a year, less or more.
He said " I am fed up,
I am fed up, from being a governor, governor...
O people, I am leaving. Assalam Aleikum!"
The people replied to him "Maa Salama..."/go in peace.
And he had a stick in his hand, nothing else.
He started walking & had with him the necessary for ablution.
He left, and one day he met Sayidina Omar (ra)
the companion of the Prophet (saws).
The companion of the Prophet (saws) said "why did you leave
the people of Homs?" He replied, "Yes I did, I
got fed up with them.
"I got fed up being a governor of people of Homs and
I left them & came." The Khalifa then asked "How did you come?"
So he replied " I said, O people
I am leaving you & I want to return to
the Madinat Al Habib (saws)." They replied to me "maa salama!"
Goodbye. "They didn't even give you a donkey to ride
for such a trip?"
"How did you come? Didn't they give you
something to ride on?" "No I didn't ask them, & they didn't ask me.
They just told me goodbye."
Sayidina Omar used to laugh a lot about this.
Such stories, these examples ....use these examples.
People think it is funny, but it has an effect. How these people,
how they were, their manners, their situations,
their manners.
Subhana Allah!
How the world was before in their eyes.
The blessed companion of the Prophet (saws),
may Allah be pleased with them.
For this blessed night & for the blessed companions,
for their sake, connect our hearts to them.
And for the city of Homs &
the cities of Sham remove the darkness from them,
and remove the tyrants from them -
To leave Syria
& the surrounding areas.
They used to say that there were 700 companions buried in Homs alone.
The head of the companions was Sayidina Khalid Ibn Al Walid (ra).
I used to go up the minaret of the mosque of Khalid Ibn Al Walid (ra)
in 1944. I was there for one year.
I stayed there in the Mosque of Khalid Ibn Al Walid (ra).
I was in a room,
in that Mosque at the Maqam, and there was
one Mua'zzin
who use to limp. He was lame in one foot.
He use to limp, going up the Minaret to call the Adhan.
Sometimes he did not come. I use to go up the Minaret.
That Minaret was beside the head of the companion
Khalid Ibn Al Walid (ra). My voice used to reach everywhere.
I use to go up the Minaret & my voice used to reach up to the castle of Homs.
From blessings of Khalid Ibn Al Walid (ra), my voice used to reach so far.
Thanks to Allah Almighty that I was able to do that.
For the sake of that companion O Allah Almighty,
remove the tyrants from Syria. Enough!
O Sahib Al Waqt, Ya Qutub Al Mutasarrif -
the pole who is responsible - enough!
I submit my,
I submit my supplication to you. You know better.
You know what is enough, but please
I beg from you, that you submit
this complaint to the Prophet (saws) that
such tyrants may be thrown out.
And all the evil ones & tyrants may be thrown out of Syria. Fatiha.
One year, or more I was staying there.
I never carried
one penny, never!
I put in my pocket not even one
or half a piastre. I didn't even know
or see or put in my hand or delt with, even a half piastre.
Till I returned to Cyprus & from Cyprus I went to my Shaykh,
S. Abdullah Al Daghastani. At that time he ordered me, "Take
Nazim Effendi. Take. When the people offer you some money, take it."
After more than one year, never dealing with money.
Alhamdulillah we reached this. May Allah forgive us.
Fatiha.
I got tired now.
