Who's their biggest threat?
The question was posed at the second Tuhoronuku consultation meeting
in Hokianga today.
Though Tuhorouku is doing their best to clarify their position,
Hokianga hapu remain divided over the issue.
Fighting words that weren't ignored.
A united Tuhoronuku
aimed to dispel the myths around its operation,
and to confront the backlash they've received
over the past few weeks.
Why are we fighting each other?
Is this what our people want?
For our children to grow up like this?
I totally disagree!
It also happens to be the option Hokianga hapu are going with.
This stunning bay is the heart and soul
of Hokianga's 58 hapu.
This, and millions more acres of unspoiled Hokianga land
will be left to Tuhoronuku to settle with the Crown.
The next meeting will be in Matauri Bay tonight,
then the Bay of Islands and Whangarei tomorrow.
