Hey everybody, James here from iOSUniverse.com and in this video I'm going to be showing
you how to find your firmware on your iOS Device. Now, this method is exactly the same
for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. You may need to find out your firmware in order to
find out if a specific application is compatible with your device, or maybe you're looking
to jailbreak your device, and you need to find out what firmware you're on in order
to find out what tool you need to use. Um, it's actually really easy. Surprisingly, a
lot of people don't know how to do it. But, it's easier than most people think. You need
tos tart out by going to your Settings app, which I have here in my Apple folder. Click
on it here. Alright, now from here you need to click on the cell labeled General. Click
on about, and in this section you'll see a lot of information on your device, like the
number of videos, photos, applications etc. But you need to pay attention to this area
here, called version number, or version, I guess. The first number is what you need to
pay attention to. For example, I'm currently running firmware 6.1.2, the other number means
something else, we aren't going to worry about that in this video. But 6.1.2 is my current
firwmare, and that's the number I need to pay the attention to if I was looking to troubleshoot.
Alright guys, that's all there is to it really. If you found this video helpful, please like,
