>> Hi and welcome to a new D.I.Y. tutorial from the 30 days of Christmas serie
today I will talk about Christmas presents
and how make the wrapping special
as I'm going to show you 5 creative ways to wrap your gifts
and make them look amazing.
So make yourself comfortable and be inspired!
For the first present I chose some pale colours
and I matched to the kraft wrapping paper
some fabric
some tulle
some wool details, some twine
a button and some cones made out of old newspapers.
If you wish to re-create this wrapping here is what you'll need:
an old newspaper,
some kraft wrapping paper,
some scissors,
some wool flowers trimmings
some tulle ribbon,
some fabric,
some buttons,
some twine
and some hot glue.
First of all let's wrap the present with kraft paper
Now let's measure the length on the fabric
to make sure it will cover the gift
and let's cut a stripe of the right size,
just as you see.
Now let's place the fabric on the package using hot glue
like this
and let's trim off the exceeding bits using the scissors.
Now let's add the tulle ribbon
and let's tie it in a big puffy bow.
If necessary let's add some more tulle bits
to make the bow even puffier with a halo shape.
It's time to create the decorative cones to place on the package.
Let's use the newspaper and let's a cut a piece of the right size.
like this.
Let's roll the paper
and once we reached the end let's pull from one side
to create the cone
just as you see.
Let's add some glue to secure it
and the cone is ready!
Now we need to make another one using the same technique.
Let's proceed by adhering all the details on the package using hot glue.
The cones,
a trimming wool flower,
the button
et voilà, there's only one detail missing!
Let's finish by tying around the string, just like this.
Et voilà, the first gift is ready!
For the second present I chose some traditional colours
and I matched the kraft paper
with some striped wrapping paper
some twine, I added a paper doily to make it cuter with
some artificial barries and pine needles
and here is the result!
If you wish to re-create it here is what you'll need:
some kraft and striped wrapping papers,
a paper doily,
some tape,
some glue,
scissors,
some artificial flowers,
some twine
and some hot glue.
After we wrapped the present in kraft paper
let's take the stripe
and let's cut out a piece of the right size, like this.
Using the regular glue
let's add the striped paper above the kraft one.
Let's tie the twine around the package
then using the hot glue let's add the barries and pine needles, this way.
Let's finish by adding the paper doily below using the glue.
And our second gift is wrapped!
The third idea I suggest you is to pack using bread bags
and it's perfect for all the gift without a box
which may be difficult to wrap.
As you can see I simply added a paper doily
and a ribbon.
Here is how you should proceed to create this kind of wrapping.
Find some paper bread bags
a paper doily
some ribbon,
a punch,
some glue,
some regular scissors
and some zig zag ones.
Insert your present in the bread bag
and fold it over
If necessary cut the exceeding part using the zig zag scissors, like this.
Using the glue stick down the fold in order to keep the bag closed
then add the paper doily on top
glueing it down like this.
Using the punch create two holes in the right size to thread the choosen ribbon through
like this.
Thread the ribbon in the holes
and tie it in a big bow.
And our present is wrapped!
For my 4th gift I used newspapers
which I embellished by creating some flowers out of the same paper
and I added some ribbon.
If you want you can match newspaper with twine always adding the paper flowers.
If you wish to know how to make these flowers and re-create this wrapping
here is what you'll need:
an old newspaper,
some scissors,
some ribbon,
some glue,
some tape
and some hot glue.
First of all wrap your present using the newspaper.
Now let's make the paper flowers!
Let's cut some squares out of the newspaper
Then, always using the scissors,
let's cut in a spiral like you see.
Helping yourself with a pencil or a pen
roll around the paper
Once you'll reach the end
let's add some hot glue to secure the flower.
Here is the result!
Using two bits of newspaper
let's draw two leaves
let's cut them out
let's crease them a bit
let's tie the ribbon around the package
and using the hot glue
let's adhere the flowers and leaves made.
And our 4th gift is ready!
We reached the 5th and last gift
on which I matched the kraft wrapping paper
some tulle, some twine
then I created this rosette using newspapers
simply adding some cardstock and a button.
And this is the result!
If you want to know how to make the rosette and re-created this wrapping
here is what you'll need:
an old newspaper,
some kraft wrapping paper,
some tulle ribbon,
some scissors,
a punch,
some clear cardstock,
some twine,
some buttons,
some tape,
some regular glue
and some hot glue.
Once you wrapped your present with kraft cardstock
add the tulle ribbon with hot glue, this way.
Let's proceed by tying around the twine.
Now you need to cut out of the newspaper
a long stripe.
Then fold it accordion style until you reach the end.
Now glue together the 2 ends of the stripe, like this.
Now push down as I'm showing you in order to create the rosette
and secure it with some staples.
Punch a circle out of the clear cardstock this way.
Using hot glue adhere the circle on top of your rosette
then glue the rosette on the package.
Let's finish by glueing the button on top of everything.
And our 5th gift is wrapped too!
Here are my 5 presents ready to be delivered
even if they will lay under my tree for a bit longer
I hope you liked this tutorial and that it gave you some inspiration to wrap in a creative way
because a nicely wrapped present is a more special one
