i'd like to start with a guy who likes to go on offense is that
begins and receive money from it wasn't
and
he apparently the is not taking kylie
republic blocking unemployment benefits
so he's got to go to get out of four the house here and give a speech that is that
great granddaddy x's justice granddaddy
and on
he's going to take the by the republicans who was a little bit of fun
my grandfather
in the nineteen thirties
spent several years of his life every single day cover the dog
looking for things there that he could sell
looking for things that he could take the mark and sell because there was no other way
france has survived the nineteen thirties the great depression
there was no unemployment insurance back then
there was no state benefits back then
there was no help for the people who had jobs all they could do like my grandfather in desperate
straits supporting a family of seven
was to go to the dump and desperately try to find something you could sell
and that my friends is the america that the republicans are trying to revive
the america of desperate straits and for them cheap labor
the america where people have nothing hope for nothing and a desperate to live for the
next day
that is what the republicans are trying to resurrect by blocking unemployment sharon's
day after day week after week
and now month after month
i've got news for my republican friends
every single person is going to receive unemployment insurance that it is bill
is unemployed
every single one of them doesn't have a job
and that's why they need this money
now i know what the republicans are thinking they're thinking why don't they just sell
some stock
if they're in really dire straits maybe they could take some of their art collection and
send it off to the auctioneer
and if they're in deep deep trouble navy's unemployed
consult one of their yachts
that's what the republicans are thinking right now
but that's not the life of ordinary people in ninety nine percent of america that actually
has to work for a living that doesn't just clip coupons them live off of interest and
dividends
like my republican friends do
that's why we need this bill to pass
because other ninety nine percent of america that deals with reality every day
the people who will lose their homes that this bill doesn't pass but people will be
living in their cars
if this doesn't pass
that's why we need to surpass
and i will say it is to republicans to a block this bill now for months
and cat food out of the mouths of children
i will say to them now may god have mercy on your souls
uh... you know better
don't turn
you know any that i think the
wrapped alchemist and write him off
but okay
here comes alan grayson man any usually comes with two by four
an
if you watch in the bill why didn't anybody status before
when we've been waiting for for last twenty years but they should be making speeches like
this everyday
but love when he starts
you know my grandmother that grandpa par
he wanted bill
okay
and that's the dog
that uh... these could serve as one us to go back to you
or do we set up a social safety net you know what happened it warrick
it work man at the and turns it around sydney got hammered cm missiles
and you think people are going to cover that speech
and then they look at the subs in the way it is out congressman right or wrong
how big a problem is unemployment now because the question is is it worth spending money
a i'd so for example republicans say well lucky few well i don't want to spend the money
on it uh... it was free i guess i do it but it's like thirty four thirty three thirty
four billion dollars and that is a lot of money and that is an open question
but they say when you turn around he said about the tax cuts that you wanna make permanent
bush's tax cuts you know how much that would cost
six hundred and seventy eight
billion dollar
is that i don't i suppose outside on the other rich
now we want them to know what is that
one key times more
then the people who are unemployed should get
we don't question the six or seven eight billion up would question thirty four billion the
people who need it i'll get it
so is it about time somebody to come to about four degrees here
that u_p_s_ has arrived and our employment situations because you gotta get to the republican
skulls because they take all your lazy
baby-dog you know it as giancarlo centered on the republican senators and congressmen
listen to it well why don't they just go get a lower paying job
and what you know what i'm you know so these people atwood giving them an incentive this
a on the couch
because fight because
that they don't want to feed their family and they think unemployment is solely
wonderful
but they've just stay on
no let me show you the real depth of the problem
we lost
million jobs since this recession caused by those concert tax cuts
archaic with delivery the ritual davidson given data
and what happened
we didn't get more jobs we got
last jobs
so let's look at this crap here to give you a sense of how many jobs we lost
and how we lost them and when we lost
it was
eight million from the beginning of the recession
to act two thousand not picking up
dot the question is hate what you've seen the first line there is
honey jobs lost
on in those specific time periods
what you see the bond that huge trough
is what happens when you add up all those jobs up together
because they are all lost and they all add up
nec that jeanine unemployment that's been created
so when
that you've got that how long would it take to get out of that
for well okay here's some at answers
if we took the fastest four years of growth in the last decade
in order for us the makeup all of those jobs so we get back to cuba
and plus because of the north normal growth rate of the united states we're gonna have
six point five million more people entering the job force
just as a matter of demographics right
if so
they also have to get jobs and normally like a time when bill clinton was president we
were adding twenty two twenty three million jobs
so that wasn't a problem we were grown faster than the population
now have the population we gotta make up the jobs are lost
just to get back to keep it
if we went at that fastest rate of the last decade
and we did it for the next you eleven years we would finally get even
in the year twenty eleven
and that's the best case scenario
and you see the depth of the problem here
we've got a gigantic problem caused by this recession and the people on wall street are
still making
record amount of profits in bonuses
face i'd watch
it's because we still letting them gamble and what but when it comes to the consequences
of their actions
and you see that unemployment and a real american people an eight million people in eight million
families that need a job
well problems that pops said they've got a
which is red out-of-body ran out of money whether to give it to you
somebody challenges them on that as a fantastic day
