The entire Penn State family across the commonwealth continues to come together as a community to support education and awareness of child abuse.
In 2012, Penn State University will be hosting its second annual Blue Out football game, when the fans in Beaver Stadium will wear blue, the nationally-recognized color of child abuse prevention.
Penn State Brandywine will participate by having its own Blue Out, asking all students, staff, and faculty on campus to wear blue the day before the game, Friday, September 21.
So show your support by purchasing and wearing an official Blue Out shirt, with all proceeds benefitting the Pennsylvania Coalition Against *** (PCAR)
an organization working to eliminate all forms of *** violence and to advocate for the rights and needs of victims of *** assault. Certainly, any blue shirt is appropriate to wear to show your support for preventing future injustices.
We will also be collecting financial donations on campus September 21 to help our local *** crisis center that is part of the PCAR network.
As part of this year's theme, One Team, One School, One Heart, One Promise, we're asking participants to make (and share) one personal promise that affirms your commitment to altruism.
Your One Promise can be something like complimenting a random person on the street, calling a long-lost friend, or standing up for someone who is being bullied.
Promises can be tweeted to @BlueOut using the hashtag #OnePromise, they can be written on our Facebook event wall, or shared in another way that is comfortable for you.
If you can't join us for our Brandywine BlueOut on campus September 21st, please tweet a photo of yourself wearing blue using the hashtag #BrandywineBlueOut or post it to our facebook wall.
WE ARE... the Brandywine Blue Out, with One Promise to make a difference.
