Hi, I'm Stephen Monet, Manager of Environmental Planning Initiatives
with the City of Greater Sudbury, and this is EarthCare Minute.
Summer in Northern Ontario brings an abundance of outdoor activities.
When you're outside enjoying nature this summer, follow these tips to reduce your
impact on our beautiful surroundings.
Stay on existing trails and paths and look for durable services to camp on.
Fragile vegetation quickly shows the effects of trampling.
Only build a fire if it's necessary for cooking or warmth
and comply with all fire bans. Using a lightweight camp stove
is less risky, cleaner for the air, and leaves no trace behind.
Be sure to pack out all garbage. Leave natural objects or artifacts
for the next visitor to enjoy. Check out the Greater Sudbury Visitor Guide
available online that said be tourism.ca for outdoor adventure ideas.
And remember take only photos and leave only footprints behind.
EarthCare Minute. One minute is all it takes.
Brought to you by the City of Greater Sudbury.
