On behalf of Expert Village, this is Paul Zuckerman with the cast of Chicago City Limits
here in New York City, and today we're going to you some techniques for improvisational
comedy. Character work is a lot of fun, but being a big character represents a big challenge.
You have to find some reality in that character, connect with yourself to the big character,
and when you do you can have huge broad characters. If you lose that connection though, the characters
are just gooney. Let's see if this guy turns out to be a big broad character or just a
big gooney broad. Mom, I brought you your favorite pasta. Angelo, you're still making
pasta. Why don't you get married? Mom, I'm not having a lot of luck with women right
now. This pasta is too salty. But you don't know that. Who knows that? A nice girl. Why
don't you get yourself a nice girl. Instead, you're breaking your mother's heart. Why do
you want to break your mother's heart? I don't understand. Did I beat you as a kid? I don't
remember.
