Now if we're planning the interval between lines, it's important to think of the space
that each line takes up. And we express that with a four line grid. So this four line grid
here, is the space that the hypothetical line 1 is going to take, so I'm just going to make
a 1. And I'm looking at this four line grid, this is the space that line 2 is going to
take up. Now as you saw with the previous example, when we put them too close together,
there's the potential for overlapping, especially if we're doing something with flourishes.
So of critical importance, is to leave space between the grid for line 1 and the grid for
line 2. And how big that space should be, kind of depends on what the flow of what your
writing is. But I think at the minimum, we want to leave a three pen width space between
the brackets for each line of text. So, again, I'm measuring that space with the pen, but
you could also give it a sign, you know, if you're using a smaller pen, you're going to
use a smaller space. So I think that's a good system.
