Nicholas Gonzalez Cancer Supplements
ANNOUNCER: Hello, in this video Dr. Gonzalez explains why it can be a mistake to believe
that all cancer patients need the same supplements.
INTERVIEWER: One of the things that you use also is supplements. How do you know which
ones a patient needs, which ones are more important at what certain stage and things
like that.
DR.GONZALEZ: Well, we've been, my colleague and I Dr. Isaacs, we've been doing this for
25 years and I studied under Kelly for five years before that, so after a while you have
a pretty good idea what a patient with pancreatic cancer needs, what a patient with breast cancer
needs, what a leukemia patient needs, they need completely different types of diet and
different types of supplements. We find patients that have the, to simplify it, the traditional
solid tumors like tumors of the breast, lung, stomach, pancreas, colon, liver, uterus, ovary,
prostate tend to need large doses of the B-vitamins, large doses of vitamin C and large doses of
vitamin D. Our meat-eating patients, they tend to get
diseases like leukemia and lymphoma, immune cancers, myeloma, sarcomas which are connective
tissue tumors. They tend to occur in people that should be on a meat diet. They don't
do as well with the B vitamins except they do well with B-12 particularly. They don't
do well with large doses of vitamin C. They don't do well with large doses of vitamin
D and for today everyone is promoting large doses of D. Our meat-eating patients don't
do well with it. They don't do well with large doses of C. They do great with vitamin E.
They do great with certain minerals like calcium. Our vegetarian patients do great with magnesium
and potassium, not well with calcium. Our meat eaters don't do well with magnesium and
potassium and do really well with the large doses of calcium like 2,000-2,500 mg.
So, from Kelly's experience and our experience after 25 years, we usually know based on the
history what supplements a patient needs and as important what supplements they don't need,
and we design the program accordingly, and if the patient has a specific problem, like
if they have heart disease, there's certain supplements we use like carnitine to help
with heart disease, but from Kelly's model which is very reproducible and is proven to
be very efficacious in clinical practice, we kind of know from his experience which
vitamins and minerals each patient needs based on their disease which tells us a lot about
their metabolic profile.
