Hi! This is Zak with Expert Village, and today I’m going to talk to you about how to use
a network printer. When you’re in a local network, you can share printers and other
similar devices and that way you can keep the printer in one location and hooked up
to one workstation and you can print to it from multiple different places. To share a
printer in your network, you can use your system preferences to go into your printer
settings. This allows you to designate printers as shared on the network through the sharing
tab. We have two printers shared on our network here. To access a shared printer, once you
make sure that you’re on the same network as other computers in your area, you can select
that printer from the printer list when you’re printing a document. Under the list, you’ll
see printers that are currently installed on your system, options to add printers and
then you’ll also see a section for shared printers, these are printers that are on the
network. When you’re in an environment with multiple printers on the network, make sure
you’re selecting the right one before you print.
