Cheryl, I'm the Director of Quality and Risk Management at Kindred Rehabilitation Hospital
Arlington. My primary function with the hospital is to assure that the quality of care and
that the regulatory policies and processes are well done and that the patients receive
all of the care that they require of course, but in addition to that, that we strive to
continually improve the quality of the product that we're providing. Anytime that we can
enhance and improve the education of our employees it's going to be reflected in the positive
outcomes of our patients. So as I increase the knowledge base, as I challenge the nurses
to improve their skills, as we offer educational programs that will benefit not only their
professional licenses but the overall licensure of the hospital we're going to see an end
result that benefits the patients. When we're impacting the patients and we're impacting
the outcome in a positive way then we build morale, we build a team that's strong, we
build self confidence in the staff and that's reflected everyday when you walk through the
doors of our hospital.
