We live and breathe the mediums that we talk to, right? We are-- we are a technology company.
And I hesitate to use the word, but the truth is we’re a very cool company. We’ve got
cool people around and our leader, you know, it starts right with him. We use social media
internally and externally as a form of creating communities, as a form of being on line real
time and sharing value and information. And you know, one of the neat examples I think
in just yesterday was we announced the launch of our new product called Streak, which is
an on the go tablet. And it was covered enormously by social media. And one of the exchanges
was between Conan O’Brien and Michael Dell himself.
Dell was one of the early one to build something called an idea storm. And we actually take
in ideas from our users and our customers and build product and service based on those
inputs. So it’s a very vibrant tool for us, both from a ideation perspective, from
a perspective of building new service and reaching out and communicating with people.
And most of all I think forming communities, because it’s people, there’s very, very
passionate communities around server technology and blades and of course the latest, you know,
what we call client, which is notebooks and desktops. So there’s a lot of passion people
have with these computing devices.
