hi I'm Liam from eSpares.
Now if your tumble dryer is not heating up properly its most likely to be an issue with the
heating element or
or the thermostat. Now it can be tricky to diagnose exactly which of those are at
fault.
And it is also recommended that were you to replace either of those items the element
or the thermostat.
That you always replaced both at the same time anyway, which is what I'm going to show you in
this video.
So most manufacturer will provide something like this which is a heating assembly
unit.
commonly known as a heater. It comprises of the heating elements
the thermostats and all the necessary wiring and connections.
Now it comes pre-assembled and is available as once spare part
and it's this I'm going to fit to this
popular indesit model of tumble dryer. But the process should be similar
from most other makes and models of tumble dryer also. Now before we start remember
safety first always make sure your appliances is unplugged from the mains
before you carry any repairs. And as a second note of caution
do handle the heating element or heating unit with care
some parts are actually quite fragile particular the element as i've mentioned
and the thermostats so just bear that in mind. Now in order to get this started
I need to take off the top and right hand panels of our tumble dryer which are held
in place with some Philips head screws.
Okay so now I've removed the side panel the
next step is to remove the shaft and
heater cover panels and these are held in place by a number phillips screw here
Thats the last screw out and the only thing holding in place
is this connection there we go. Okay so here we have our heater unit
and the old one still inside the heater cover so I need to get this one out
and if I turn it over you can say thats easily done and it is held in place by two
small
Phillips screws. So I'll just get those undone,
okay so the screws have been removed and the only thing holding the heater in place
now in the cover
is this plastic fixing so to undo that
we just take a pair of pliers and pinch gently
and pull it through now I'm going to re use this plastic fixing
on the new heater because the new heater didn't come with one.
Okay so our plastic fixing or cable tie is back on the cable's
then we take the heater and gently remembers its quite fragile
place into the heater cover pop the fixing through the hole
then all you need to do is screw the heater
to the heater cover connect it back together.
And then all you need to do is screw everything back together again.
Okay so that's it that's how easy it is to replace a heater
on a tumble dryer. Now remember heaters elements and thermostats for
all makes and model of tumble dryer are available on the eSpares website.
Thanks for watching.
