Hi Andy here from CertaPro Painters in Nashua in beautiful New Hampshire. Today I'd like
to talk to you about deck maintenance. "How do I get my deck ready for the winter months?"
Step One: Clean it. This is really the most important step that you can take. You really
need to remove the debris that's on your deck. This stuff here will decay over the winter
and damage your deck. Removing it also helps with the drainage between the boards and allows
the water to go off the deck in the winter time. The second step you can take is remove
all the planters that are on your deck. Those things will leach during the winter time and
when the spring comes and you want to move them you will see the rings that they leave
behind. The third thing you need to do is every time it snows remove the excess snow
and ice. That's really an important step you can do. But be careful not to scratch the
deck surface when you're doing that. This is Andy, over and out.
