Hello everybody, my name is Sébastien Corso, I'm a young French guitarist.
Today I'd like to discuss a plectrum I used in my last video, a Joe Satriani cover
I'm just like you, I'm looking for THE guitar, THE pedal, all the time looking, seeking.
And I recently found out THE right plectrum that works for me, and I can assure you, it
took me some time! Let me tell you, I have tried my share of
picks! I've tried V-picks, a great brand.
I've tried some Dunlop, a lot of Dunlop. I stuck with the Jazz III for a while. Different
materials. I've tried... a bunch.
Then I found out about Timber Tones. How did I find out? Well simply by watching
Youtube guitarists, since I myself make Youtube videos.
I saw some guitarists talking about the Timber tones picks and I thought: "I'll give them
a shot". And so I tried that one: the Jazz Tones Blond
Horn, that was recommended to me by the Timber Tones team. they are pretty great for that.
You can ask them questions, they'll be able to help you.
So, there's one great thing about this plectrum, it is well sculpted. It's really what I love
about it, it is carved in a pointy shape, which allows a great fluidity in the attack.
We have a great attack that keeps the nice tone.
you probably all have tried some picks that sounded like *ding ding ding* when you pick,
you hear the noise more than the guitar out of the amp.
And with that one you get just the sound you want.
In addition, this pick is also pretty sturdy. It's not gonna break.
It really is a pick I could recommend. What I noticed with this pick is that it has
a good grip. You know that feeling, when you're playing and your pick goes flying away? None
of that here. It's really great for stroke patterns, legato,
shredding in general. I think there is another model you can try out, a bit sturdier (there
is, it's called Jazz Tones Bone), but I would advise you start with that one.
If you don't know the pick, I suggest you try it, just pick a few. If you have any questions,
don't hesitate to ask me. If you really have questions to ask Timber
Tones, go for it, they speak French, all the languages (well... we can do English, French,
and a bit of Spanish), they're really nice to talk with. It's pretty rare to have a dedicated
team like that. See you next time and if you'd like to watch
my Satriani cover in which I use this pick, go to my channel!
