I was a swimmer for 11 years
and won Gold medal at the Paralympics in both Sydney and Athens.
I have a rather positive personality,
which helps me focus on the bright side of every situation.
I retired after the 2004 Paralympics in Athens, and joined Eurosport in 2005.
I enjoy staying close to the sport I love,
without spending five hours in water every single day!
The SUHANJ! foundation was established in 2010 with the aim
of sharing the joys of physical exercise with disabled people.
If a disabled person wishes to go swimming, running, or spinning just to have fun
like anyone else, the opportunities are very limited.
Suhanj! tries to fill this void.
István Málnai, who taught me how to swim
and helped children with disabilities for 25 years,
passed away recently, leaving his pupils behind.
I recognized the need, and although I never intended to become a trainer,
the children accepted me and I have a way with them.
I have 7 or 8 students at the moment who come to my swimming classes every week.
It became obvious that I wanted to dedicate myself to advocating equal opportunities.
The media likes and accepts me,
which enables me to diffuse my message and values to a wider audience.
I chose to study communication because I was genuinely interested in it as a science,
not because it is currently popular, or because I couldn't think of anything else.
I learnt from professors who I still admire.
They infused us with a passion to study, and with humility in respect to science,
values I could easily identify with.
The fact that I can interview Olympic and World Champions, true icons
at Magyar Narancs magazine is unique, I could not ask for more.
Insatiable curiosity.
A great deal of perseverance.
Confidence.
If you truly believe in yourself, you will find a way to be successful.
I studied at ELTE, of course!
ELTE is worth it.
ELTE and its talents were sponsored by OTP.
