I spoke to freshmen convocation yesterday, about 17-hundred freshmen, and they're so
excited to be here. And I told them to begin with the end in mind to think about leaving
Southern Miss and when they leave it that somehow because they were here it's a better
place, and they really excepted that challenge. This is our centennial freshmen class and
I told them they're helping Southern Miss step boldly into our second 100 years, and
that's something very special that nobody else can claim. They're kind of excited but
they're overwhelmed, they just moved in and they're, you know, not really sure what to
expect and then just seeing everyday a gradual change, and by the end of the week they're
just so pumped up and ready for the school year to begin and just really loving Southern
Miss. It's a really rewarding experience to be a part of that and to really watch that
transformation take place, so today's a very exciting day.
