A small social media miracle helped to reunite a little boy and his beloved stuffed
bunny in Los Angeles after a tourist posted a picture of the lost toy on Instagram. The
precious bunny belongs to two-and-a-half-year-old Max, and it was given to him by his grandmother
before she passed away. Max’s mother, Frances Page, told TODAY that the stuffed
animal, who doesn’t have a name, normally never leaves the house, but Max must have
snuck it into his stroller and dropped it. When the family noticed that the bunny was missing,
they went into search mode. Mom put up missing posters while her husband, Matt Ross, put
a photo of the toy up on Twitter and Instagram. Jason Ho, a tourist visiting Los Angeles from Minneapolis,
posted a photo of a brown stuffed bunny he found lying on the street on Instagram just
as Ross was uploading his own pictures of the toy. An unknown good samaritan miraculously
spotted both photos on the site and contacted Ross to say that Ho “just posted something
that looks like what (he’s) looking for.” Ho spoke with Max’s parents over the phone
and gave them the last known location of the missing bunny. Page and her son couldn’t
find it until a kind stranger helped them search nearby trash cans. And finally, the
bunny was found. The bunny is now back home with his loving owner. All thanks to
Instagram, the kindness of strangers and a little luck.
