Hi
I'm Tracy and my business is Ortho-Bionomy
with Tracy. I am often asked in class
that I teach, what is Phase 4.
Because that is a foundation class. After they learn about Phase 4
and I explain about Phase 5, 6 and 7 they say
well, if Phase 4 is the foundation and that
kind of find a point and get the muscle to soften and release
Phase 5, here's the point, see if you get the muscle to release
and then it takes off on it's own energetic movement
Phase 6 is more energetic movement and
Phaese 7 is
information Arthur Pauls, the founder received
in a dream which uses symbols, What happened to Phase 1, 2 and 3?
Phase 1 is
the movement that you make in your unconsious
For example when you are sleeping, you
might be in a really contorted position
you wake up, but you had the best sleep you ever had. Your body
moved to that position, because it needed to be comfortable
whether it good or looked proper, is not the point. The point is your body felt that was
the most comfortable position to be in. That would be Phase 1.
Phase 2 is something you would use, subconsciously
like your body is getting stiff
you're in a meeting and the chair's not very comfortable.
you shift your weight to move around until you are
a little more comfortable. That would be considered Phase 2. Phase 3
is the information the Arthur found while he was in chiropractice
classes and it was paperwork from Lawrence Jones
a U.S. osteopath
He wrote a paper called Spontaneous Release through Positioning
and that was actually the kick-off point
for Arthur to create Ortho-Bionomy
In Jones' paper, he said the body
will spontaneously release
if put in a position of comfort. His paper
said here's the pain, we'll move it here
and hold it for 90 seconds and then release it. That became strain
counter-strain. Arther wasn't quite happy with that
and with training in
Judo, he knew there had to be something a little bit different, so he
said okay here is the point and here's where it hurts, but if I add a little bit of
compression to that joint, it involves the nervous system, which
helps create that change faster. We can change
pain patterns by affecting the nervous system
and it gets to the root of the
cause faster and we might have a release in 10 to 30 seconds, versus Jones who took 90 seconds.
the here's the point, holding the position
That's what we consider Phase 4 work.
That's the difference between Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3
and why they aren't really taught in Ortho-Bionomy
but they a part of your life and things you do
naturally, just as Ortho-Bionomy teaches this is
an innate ability for your body to self correct.
