Today on our 2010 Chevy Cobalt well be test fitting the RockyMounts Pitchfork Roof Mounted
Bike Carrier, part number rky0438. Now to begin our test fit, well set the carrier onto
the vehicles crossbars. Well first be attaching the front part of the carrier to the front
crossbar. Well remove the black cap, take out the skewer, and use the included allen
key to loosen up the allen bolts to bring the bracket around the underside of the front
crossbar. Note: that you cannot access the allen bolts without removing the skewer. Once
weve done this, we move to the rear of the carrier where we will loosen up the black
wing nut, bring the black plastic bracket around the rear crossbar, and tighten the
wing nut to secure the rear of the carrier to the vehicle.
We will then move back up to the front of the carrier where we will tighten down the
allen bolts, replace the skewer, and then the black plastic cap. Now with the carrier
secured to the vehicle, were ready to load our bike. Well undo the back tray strap, set
the bike onto the carrier, slide the bikes front forks onto the skewer, tighten down
the skewer, and secure the rear tire with the rear tray strap. And, that completes todays
test fit for the RockyMounts Pitchfork Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number rky0438
on our 2010 Chevy Cobalt. .
