Today I'd like to bring a piece of good news to fellow snipers
ARES MS338 and MS700 Sniper Rifle are out
This slender weapon is derived from Remington MSR's
latest Sniper Rifle
MSR's full name is Modular Sniper Rifle
As its name implies, it's a modular contemporary concept rifle that facilitates
barrel change and the installation of tactical gears
Its popularity probably resulted from a frequent occurrence in recent
military-themed video games
But military fans learnt this weapon when Remington bid for US SOCOM's
Precision Sniper Rifle Project in 2009
ARES loyally resembles the essence of MS338 and
MS700 Sniper Rifle
MS338 employs large-caliber bullets of .338
Lapua Magnum 8.6×70mm or
8.58×70mm while 700 employs 308
Winchester 7.62×51 NATO rifle bullets
On the top of the gun body lies a
545mm Tactical Rail
providing ample room for
high-resolution sights
and other aiming devices
The special, octagonal free float handguard
provides an easy grip
Aside from the top rail
there are altogether tilted surfaces for the rail installation
The gun already comes with three
Outer barrel is made of CNC Aluminum
and is designed for precision shooting. Its surface is grooved
to lower its weight
Flash Hider was finely cut by CNC milling machinery
The threading looks similar to Magpul ACC's
Let's see if a QD silencer will fit
No
, it doesn't. Never mind, we can wait
Apart from sizes
the magazines of ARES MS338 and MS700
are almost identical
In terms of manufacturing
MS338 was finely cut by CNC milling machinery
and MS700
is a die-cast metal
I personally adore CNC milling machinery as it features clear lines
sharper chamfer, small tolerance
and is rather limited
Its price speaks volumes about it
Kinetically
ARES MS338 and MS700 are spring-powered
ARES incorporates a self-developed, patented TX interchangeable bolt system
A bolt-action upgrade kit will soon be released for the gas
or CO2 conversion
Moreover
the trigger can't be pulled without the magazine
A rather good safety system
But remember to load the magazine more fully before firing
because the chamber
will preload dozens of bbs
Insufficient bbs will lead to dry fire. Have a listen
Bbs are rolling inside the chamber
The real steel has 20'', 22'', 24'' and 27''
barrels for replacement
I wonder
if ARES will roll out a full set for us
