Hi. My name's Ron Russell one of the owners at SunCafe Organic Cuisine. We're a raw food
and cooked vegan food restaurant in Studio City. Right across the street from Universal
Studios.
I'm also a novelist. I wrote a book called "Don Carina". It's based on a true story about
a woman who was the oldest of 13 children in the South of Italy just before World War
II.
I've been a vegetarian for many, many years. More than 30 years. And I actually turned
vegetarian because I was a fry cook and it just was too much for me. I just couldn't
stand it anymore.
I always wanted really good tasting food and I just wasn't finding it. So I, kind of, made
a lot of my own recipes.
And then about 12 years ago, I saw a lecture on raw foods and was fascinated by it. Gradually
I learned more. Went to taste foods at many raw events. And three years ago started SunCafe.
You can be very creative in the kitchen. So, that's fun to create recipes. You get an instantaneous
gratification seeing somebody light up over eating it. And so that's always fun.
You can look at our website, SunCafe.com. We've got our menu and we also do cooking
classes at the restaurant every Saturday morning. So, you can see the schedule of that and some
of the new things that we're preparing, specials and so on at the restaurant.
And today we're going to be talking about raw foods and all the benefits and wonderful
taste you can get with raw foods.
