Hi my name is Mandy Gladczak I am a student studying animal science focusing on Pre-veterinarian medicine here at The University of Findlay
Students in this program spend a lot of time here at our two farm complexes If you’re considering treating horses the center for equine and Pre-veterinarian studies will give you the exposure you need
The center features barn equipped for 300 horses as well as an indoor and outdoor riding arena
Our livestock is housed in the 31,000 square foot Dr. C. Richard Beckett animal science building
Here is where our students manage animals on a daily bases under the supervision of a barn manager and staff veterinarians
Hands-on classes include animal nutrition genetics cell biology and advanced equine reproduction
Among the herd animals at the animal science barn are low line cattle show team that has garnered numerous awards
Students also work with dairy steers and learn to attach ear pegs perform castrations and dehorn calves
There’s no lack of animals here at our barn and spring brings a real population explosion
We have a huge neonatal unit consisting of a nursery and a fairing room
Our animal science facility is located on state route 68 just 8 miles from the main campus
Schedule a visit and you won’t be disappointed
