Google is celebrating 442nd birthday of the astronomer, astrologer and mathematician Johannes
Kepler with a Google doodle.
Kepler was born in the German in 1571.
The doodle features a planet orbiting the sun. Kepler's major contribution to science
was the discovery that the earth and other planets travel around the sun in an elliptical
orbit.
Let us see three famous Kepler's laws.
First,The orbit of every planet is an ellipse with the Sun at one of the two foci.
Second, A line joining a planet and the Sun sweeps out equal areas during equal intervals
of time. Third, The square of the orbital period of
a planet is proportional to the cube of the semi-major axis of its orbit.
