Hi, my name's Lincoln Ward. I am the director of the Austin Tennis Center here in Austin,
Texas, as well as a USPTA teaching pro. Today, we're going to talk about the materials in
your tennis racket. The frame of your racket most most often will be made of a graphite
mixed with either Kevlar, titanium, or or some other type of material that will affect
the the tensile strength, and flexibility, and weight of your racket. Other things that
are, other materials that are included in your tennis racket are, is the is the the
head, the head and grommets which is a a plastic material used to help elongate the life of
your strings, as well as protect the head of your, the frame of your tennis racket.
The strings are made either of of a gut material, like a, like cow gut, or natural gut is what
they call it, a a synthetic gut, a monofilament or a multifilament polyester type of material
that's wound together. As you go further down your racket you get your grip. Your grip is
generally made of a a a rubber type material, and and the handle of your racket is generally
either made out of a rubbery material or a plastic material. These are the, these are
the materials that you use to make your tennis racket.
