We've got some great new yarns from Rowan this fall, including Rowan's
Thick-n-Thin. It's a hundred percent wool, hand wash,
super bulky, at 2.5 stitches per inch
on a US 13. Thick-N-Thin is a single ply
that goes from being spun tightly to loosely. I love the addition
the dark wool to provide even more contrast to the thick and thin texture,
creating even more interest in the finished fabric.
It's chunky and knits up quickly, making it great for winter garments and
accessories.
We have great pattern support and ideas in Rowans'
Thick-N-Thin collection. Rowan Angora Haze is
69 percent angora, 11 percent wool,
20 percent poly, for strength. This is a fingering weight yarn
with a gauge of seven stitches per inch on a US three.
Webs carries all 13 colors, from beautiful neutrals
and soft pastels, to bright saturated jewel tones.
The finished fabric is remarkably soft, lightweight
and warm with the beautiful fine halo. The Rowan Angora Haze booklet has lovely
sweaters and accessories
that have the romantic look of the nineteen forties. Angora seems to be
making a comeback this season.
Alpaca colour is a hundred percent baby alpaca,
hand wash, in a DK weight, coming in at five point five stitches per inch
on a US six. Webs carries all 10 colors.
Alpaca Colour is a single ply yarn with subtle color shifts,
creating a semi-solid fabric with great depth.
The finished fabric also has a beautiful drape
and a soft halo you would expect from a hundred percent baby alpaca.
This yarn is great for sumptuous sweaters as well as winter accessories.
There are many beautiful patterns in Rowan's
Alpaca colour booklet. Rowan Lima colour
is an eighty-four percent alpaca, 8 percent wool,
8 percent nylon, hand washable yarn.
It's a worsted weight at five stitches per inch,
on a US 9. Webs carries all five colors.
This yarn has a chainette construction that gives the finished fabric
a light and airy feel, retaining all the warmth of alpaca
without the weight. Rowan Kidsilk Haze
Eclipse is a 66 percent mohair, 27 percent silk,
4 percent polyester, 3 percent nylon. It's considered lace weight
but can be knit in a number of gauges, depending on the design,
on US 3's to 8's. Webs carries
all eight colors.
