I've been wanting to customize my plain keys for awhile now. I finally decided to paint
them which makes it easy to tell them apart. I want to show you guys my process and share
some ways you can customize your keys too.
Nail polish is a quick and easy way to decorate your key. Just paint it on the top portion.
Paint two coats if you need to.
A spool of thread makes a nice holder for your key dry.
If you don't have many colors of nail polish, you can try acrylic paint too. I'm making
a stripe pattern using tape for this one.
After it's all dry, put a clear top coat nail polish on to make it durable.
Another option is to use a sharpie to make your design. I'm going to make a leopard print
pattern on this one.
For designs made with a sharpie, use a clear acrylic varnish to help seal in your design, otherwise the sharpie ink will rub off. Don't use clear nail polish
on sharpie ink though, it will make the ink smudge and bleed.
Make sure to let the keys dry for a few hours or overnight.
I hope you have fun customizing your own keys! Feel free to share this video and leave your
comments below. You can also post photos of your finished key designs at facebook.com/sealemon.
