Hello Fitlifers, Drew Canole. I'm here with a very good friend, and legend. This guy Jonny
Bowden, he drove all the way down from L.A. All the way down, two whole hours. Two whole

to have you here. Yeah. Yeah. We're going to make a juice in this video. And also we
forget one thing to add to the juice which is really important. Avocado. With the new
you in 22. We're going to talk about avocado. Let's go the market real quick. Let's grab

Well there was a moniker road nutritionist was given to me because I tend to veer off
track and go off the reservation when it comes to conventional wisdom of nutrition . I do
not believe cholesterol causes heart disease; yeah, I think we have been completely misled
about saturated fat, yeah, I don't think coffee is necessarily bad for us; I don't
think soy is a health food, so there's a lot. Wait, wait coffee is not bad? Huh? Not
according to research. Alright, alright. The New You in 22 is a program to turn people
from sugars burners into fat burners. Yeah. And what does that mean? If you think about
your typical person who's terribly overweight, and unhappy about it. They're storing a ton
of fat in their body, they're are on the treadmill everyday. Why aren't they not losing
weight? Yeah. Cause they're not accessing that fat. Fat the natural fuel in the body.
That's why we're talking about avocados it's the best stuff to eat. Because when
you eat fat, you can burn fat. But these folks are not accessing that, so they're relying
always on sugar that is why they are hungry all the time. So things like pasta. Exactly.
Things like all the cereals that they eat. Exactly, and I'm glad you brought that up,
because people think that when they say cut the sugar they're talking about the dominos
that they put on their coffee. We're talking about food that turn into sugar in a heartbeat
like cereals, and pasta, and potatoes, and rice, and all that stuff. So, New You in 22.

us take a break, and grab some stuff for the juice recipe. Good. We're going to go back
to my pad. And. Perfect. We're going to talk about hormones in a second. Alright, Fitlifers,
we made it back from the market. So you mentioned the hormones symphony. We talked about that
that. And we talked about it a little bit. Tell the Fitlifers, what that is and how they
can apply it in their life. Okay, a little background. All weight gain is driven by hormones
Yeah. Thatí's why we see so many people obese, who are unfit, and thy're doing the best they can, and
they want to get involved. It's partly because the hormonal messages that burns fat are not
getting through it's sort of like an email. Yep. That just doesn't send, and you keep
on pressing it but it's just not finding the receiver. That's what happening. So you
have you have Leptin. We have a bunch of hormones. Yeah. The first one we should probably be
talking about before we get to Leptin is Insulin. That's right. Insulin is your basic fat making
hormone, and fat storing hormone. Also, not only does it make fat, it also store fat,
and locks the doors down in the fat cells. So when your insulin levels are high, you don't burn fat, you
can't access the fat cells. The fats cells are locked, they're finished, they're not
listening. Okay. So the first thing that has to be managed is Insulin but what we found, I wrote an entire
book at this Living Low Carb talking about managing Insulin but its not the whole story
because there's actually six other hormones involved. Appetite regulation, fat burning,
fat storage, the work together with Insulin. So Insulin's a big part of it but the whole
not the whole picture. And that's what we mean about the hormones. That makes sense,
so I heard, Insulin is like your mom. Insulin comes in the room and tells you to put your
stuff away. Yes, simply it's said, it's supposed to put all that stuff away into the
muscles cells, and in the way things it's supposed to. Instead it puts it here. Because
the cell is not listening. And then we got Leptin. Yep. Which is our appetite hormone.
Leptin actually what tells the brain you're full and to stop eating. Very hard to diagnose
with when you're very hungry all the time. Yep. This is a very good mechanism, right?
Yeah. That we have. Belly's full tells the brain to stop eating. Yep, To shut it off.
Okay, so they figured, this is going to be, this is going to be the magic potion for weight
loss. Obese people thought they don't have enough Leptin. Let's give them more Leptin.
Yep. Bombed, because what they found out is that obese people have plenty of Leptin but
the message isnít getting to the brain. Their Leptin resisted. Okay. So the first time we're
going to do. So it's going like this, if youíre sending an email, it's going to a
standby. It's not even getting to the standby. Its going, the rainbow thing is going round,
and round, and round. It's trying to land, and it's not landing. Alright. So what we
have to do is to bring down Insulin, we have to let Leptin message to get to the brain
to say that you're full. Yep. And then there's these other hormones like the Cortisol which
are the stress hormones, and they actually tell the body to store more fat because when
the stress hormones elevate, you're body thinks you're in an emergency so they want
to store, and they break down muscle which lowers your metabolic rate even more. We've
got Insulin, and Cortisol, and Leptin, there's Grehlin and adiponectin, there's all these
hormones that works together. Yep. To either cause fat burning, or cause fat storage, and,
and, one of the things in our program that's most central to it is getting that hormonal
symphony to stop playing like a zoo band, and start playing like the New York Philharmonic.
Yep, aha, and that's what you do because, Iíve seen it you have like the supplement
protocol, the way to eat, the right way to eat, the right way to sleep, different packs
that you do. Exactly, exactly. And sleep was another thing you have mentioned as well at
the farmers market. Yeah. It has a huge impact in lowering the Cortisol, doing that metabolic
make-over as well. One of the things that interfere with those hormones are stress,
sleep, and toxins. So there's really five pathways to metabolic health, not just two,
and everyone knows about diet, and exercise. So we talked about sleep you guys, we talked
about managing stress, we talked about the hormone symphony, so the major take away there
is the understanding that there needs to be communication between the hormones, in order
for you to be successful in any diet, or exercise program. We talked about similar foods, different
types of foods that they can be eating instead of the sugar versus fat, and things like that.
We got the avocado from the farmers market. Yep, pure fat, best thing that you can eat.
We're about to make a New You in 22 juice recipe. Great. Right here, right now. Can't
wait. Here's a big misconception, a lot of people think that if you're eating low carb,
you can't do this. That is completely wrong, even actors themselves eat more vegetables
in a day probably even more than you and I eat in a week. Yeah, yeah. There's nothing
incompatible about a rich vegetable juice in a daily basis, twice than eating a low
carb diet. Alright Fitlifers, so the recipe were using today is basically the New You
in 22 juice recipe. You're absolutely going to love it. Weíve got a little secret that
Jonny's going to show us after I go through the ingredients. So write this down, or we're
going to leave it on the blog below. We have one cucumber; one head of romaine lettuce;
we have six stalks of celery; one tomato, two tomatoes; we've got one red pepper as
well; two lemons; we have a bundle of parsley, do you call it a bundle, or bush? Doesn't
matter, handful is good to me; two shallots onions, red onions we're putting in there.
And what about the last thing that weíre going to put in the blender? This is the secret
ingredient, this is what we went to the farmers market for. Yep. Avocado, and you know I did
a little sales, little thing about these food for fat burning. Yep. And this is one of them,
and it's always surprising people because the caught in me the conventional wisdom.
Yeah, which is definitely not wise. You're going to get fat eating that. Absolutely the
opposite, this is the best natural burning fuel food for the body. Alright, are you ready?
Yeah. Do you want to kick the juicer on? Ready? Yeah, yeah. I don't want to put too much,
I just cut a half. Oh, absolutely. Spike up the caloric load, I'd have one of these sometimes
for mini meals, if I'm coming down from work in the afternoon, and I want a snack. I'll
just cut an avocado, and eat it. Instead of a bag of Cheetos, or something like that.
I don't even know what that is. Like that. That's a great way to put it.
Then you put it in the blender. Yup. Excellent. We're only going to blend it for a little bit.
Yeah, you don't need much. The avocado is nice, and soft. Here we go. Let's kick this
