Hello, I am Osmar Prado and I want to tell you a story.
Imagine a country of 168 million people.
Now imagine that every single one of them is a child worker.
Most of them don't have enough to eat,
don't go to school,
and when they get sick, they don't get medical care.
80 million of these girls and boys
are forced into slavery,
into armies and militias, they are trafficked
and exploited in the drugs trade or in prostitution.
Or else they work in dangerous places.
You won't find this country is on any map
-- but it's everywhere, and it is all around us:
in rich and poor countries, in farm fields, in mines, in factories, in war zones, in street corners,
in private homes.
The ILO - the International Labour Organization
is a United Nations agency
and has the world's largest programme to fight child labour.
The ILO has already helped free millions of children around the world
-- but it needs our help to do even more.
Now in October,
Brazil is hosting the 3rd Global Conference on Child Labour,
and the ILO is launching the Red Card campaign.
I'm holding up the Red Card to Stop Child Labour!
...and you?
