Welcome to the Hershey's Kitchens. I'm Megan from TheDecoratedCookie.com. Melted chocolate
is one of the most versatile ingredients you can work with and today I'm going to show
you how to use it. When melting chocolate, avoid direct heat
sources. The best way to melt chocolate is on top of a double boiler
or in the microwave at reduced power. My favorite way to melt chocolate is directly in a disposable
decorating bag. Makes cleanup easy and you can totally
control the chocolate. I have Hershey's Premier white chocolate
chips already melted in my decorating bag. To pipe a snowflake, snip about 1/8 inch off
the tip of your decorating bag, line your baking tray with
parchment paper, and freeform to pipe your snowflakes. When you
fill your tray, freeze the tray, then peel off the snowflakes when you're ready to use.
I always make a few extra just in case of breakage. Melted milk or dark
chocolate can really add something special to your treats. I have
already melted in my decorating bag Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips ready to decorate
these sugar cookies. Another great tip-- while you have
your melted chocolate in your decorating bag, you can easily fill
your holiday molds for festive candies. You can also use melted chocolates a more traditional
way. Simply melt your favorite Hershey's chocolate chips
and you're ready to go. I'm taking marshmallows, skewering
them with a lollipop stick and dipping them in melted chocolate. Then I roll in a mixture
of Hershey's cocoa and granulated sugar to make marshmallow dippers for hot chocolate.
Finally, for a very cute and festive treat, try these Rudolph pretzel rods.
Just take a pretzel rod, dip in your melted Hershey's chocolate
and attach two candy eyes and a red candy nose and you're all set. I do recommend letting
the chocolate set for a minute before adding the candies so
they don't slide around. You can do so many things with melted
chocolate. It's an easy and creative way to decorate sweets. For these ideas and more,
