My name is Anthony Maddaloni and I'm going to talk about using diffuser panels for natural
light photography. Now a diffuser panel is a panel that you can hang in front of a window.
And it's going to diffuse the harsh sunlight coming into a scene, like you're photographing.
I first saw these on a movie sets that I would photograph in. We'd get on to the set and
they would have natural light or artificial light made to look natural. Coming through
a huge panel from a window. What that does is, it adds a certain softness to it. A real
nice, gentle look. And what they would be using, were these really, pretty big sometimes,
panels. Now these panels are pretty expensive, they can easily cost hundred, two hundred
dollars. But they can also, with a little bit of framing from a carpenter be made. And
going to the fabric store and potentially buying some muslin. You can really make this
type of panel to use. So it's kind of, back to you want to buy something that a manufacturer
makes. Or do you want to make it. Now these panels are really pretty necessary. If you're
photographing in an area where there's no shade, lots of bright sun coming in. You're
really going to need one. I mean, they're really essential. Battling harsh natural light.
It's not a fun battle to fight. So that is how I would utilize these natural light diffuser
panels in my photography.
