Hello this is Jenny with simply beautiful crafts on behalf of expertvillage.com. What
in the world would you do with different kinds of pasta to make a shadow box. Well I have
a dear friend who is a chef and made a absolutely amazing meal for us and I want to do something
special for him. I got this idea. I took different kinds of pasta, curly Q's, the color pasta
and wheat spaghetti and decided to make something unique. I have this wire and string basket.
So I took this spaghetti and I actually wired it first and attached it to the basket. Well
I wired it and tied it with a rafia but attached it to the basket with wire. Then I found this
wonderful wooden spaghetti spoon and of course this wonderful spaghetti fork and decided
that they would look good crossed over in here. Then I have a little jar of oil and
herbs to put right in the middle. Then I took a good old congregate board board piece, cut
it out and simply glue on with Elmers glue, the different kinds of pasta. Before I did
that I poked a hole in it and put some raffia through it so I can tie it to the back of
my basket. So I put the strings through the raffia through. One on one side one on the
other. Position it where I want it. Make sure that it is in the angle that I want and tie it. I don't need to put a picture
hanger on the back of this because it is open. So when you hang it on the wall you can hang
it by a wire and because it is a very strong sturdy basket it won't need anything else
to hang it. Now you could put against your wall and have it against the white wall with
a white background or you could back your wire basket with something else if you would
chose. For instance you could put some gold paper behind it and as you could see that
give it a very different look or you could put a bright orange paper behind it or anything
else that would go with the decorate of your room or the person that would be receiving
this as a gift. But that is a very unique way to use a wire and string basket to make
a shadow box out of pasta.
