Our project is a short film
telling the story of Francis and Alice
two seventeen year olds living side by side in a small,
and deprived coastal town.
Unfortunately,
the only scenery we have for the moment is this:
(traffic)
the small dirty beach on the banks of London's River Thames.
Not ideal!
That is why
we’re launching this here campaign.
Now, our film is about
the difficulties of teenage life
and how something that
may seem trivial to an adult
can become unendurable
in a time period when everyone around you
is pressuring you to consider your 'future'.
We’ll be exploring the characters
through extensive improvisation sessions,
and creating back stories of incredible detail.
Plus a hell of a lot of research into the sensitive subject matter,
so as to create an authentic a feel as possible.
Yes, we want great visuals,
but I believe it's the addition of outstanding acting
that can turn an average film project into an extraordinary one!
Now, this is where you come in!
We really do need your support!
We need to raise money for shooting equipment,
facilities hire, art materials, set design,
travel - namely our trips to the coast to film,
and food for the team.
And although we’re working on a really small budget
with this short film,
we’re all working either as waiters or in cinemas,
and we really can´t make it happen without you!

One rather magical evening,
Francis and Alice’s paths collide.
From the comfort of his bedroom,
they talk of big plans and ideas,
and Alice ends up persuading Francis to eventually leave town with her.
I am in charge of the sound design
of Ocean of Noise,
and I will be putting
the soundtrack together,
which is being created by Marry Me Emelie,
a unique acoustic duo based in London -
the music of which you are hearing throughout this video.
As I was saying…
GUYS!!
What the f***!!!
Get out of my garden!!!!

Francis has never thought of leaving town as an option,
but now,
this opens up a new world of hope and opportunity for him.
The next morning, Alice is reported as missing.

We're gonna need something better than this man!
And that's why
we are kindly
asking you guys
for some support,
so we can rent
the proper equipment.
We have already started the pre-production of the short film,
and we will be having the casting sessions soon.
Our idea is to shoot the short by the end of February
and do the post-production in March.
So hopefully at the end of that month we'll have the final product for you.
Yes, we are going to be shooting around London
and in the Eastern coast of England.
I have to say everything here has been crowdfunded
which means that everybody is working for free.
That shows that we truly believe in the strength of this project.

Setting the small town mentality
against the aspiration to achieve something bigger,
our film journeys Francis' silent struggle
with the loss of someone he barely knew,
in a town where nobody ever speaks of leaving.
Another unique thing about this project
is that it's a unique collaboration of art forms
including original illustration,
(whhooooo!!!)
bespoke knitwear design,
(woooaaah!!!)
new music,
(yeeeeaaaahhhh!!!!!)
and of course,
film!
...
We can create a platform
for artists to experiment with and showcase their work
and an artisan production in which almost everything
is home-made!

If you are able to donate,
every penny helps!
And in return we have some lovely unique rewards
such as bespoke artwork from our illustrator
and some new pieces of music from Marry me Emelie,
who've created the soundtrack.
If you are not in a position to help out financially,
but you do like the sound of our project
there are so many other ways you can help!
For example, forward this campaign
to one hundred of your closest friends and family
and/or post-it on facebook and twitter.
These fairly small acts can make such a huge difference!
So if you have a spare five minutes,
please ... !
