well I'm
I'm a post-graduate student,and you know a post-grad student with a disability
so I guess maybe my needs
will be slightly more different, you know, from when i was doing an undergraduate degree.
so basically, what was crucial for me when I was doing ,well I'm still doing my studying,
It was key for me to keep myself organised, and of course preparing for essays and all that kind of stuff
I did find the tablet quite helpful in some ways
for example I would use Apps such as Evernote to compile notes and all that kind of stuff
from books and all that, just having them in one place, and organising things into different
note books, so they will be organised and all that
it was very efficient for me
and also use things like, for example
you know like the Adobe reader App
which is incredibly helpful because
I could be sent a PDF to my email, or log into WebCT and get an email there
and i can choose if I want to open it in that App.It will have that there for me
and it will stay there, so if I wanted to go back to it, it will always be there
and I can still annotate everything as well
I tried using a few of the calendar Apps,
like the one on the iPad or some other ones,
like this one, whatever it is,
they've been very helpful for me when i don't have my planner
just to keep a note of what I have to do it and when,
and for me keeping that routine, keeping everything recorded
that's really really useful for me
(Patrick Adams's question) Did you find it saves you time on your studies? compare to if you didn't have a tablet?
I think in some aspects it does, but then again I think
i know that it all depends how I feel about an essay, whether i want to write down my notes,
or I want to type them down.
In some of the cases it did kind of help, for example,
if I was typing stuff down on evernote, I can prop up the iPad beside me and have that to refer to
while i'm writing my essay or taking more notes.
So I think in some respect it does save time, and also in some classes, for example i had a module
which main kind of engine really, was
wordpress blog, so i made sure to download the wordpress App
so when we're in class I could just
click on the App
and it took me straight to the blog
and i have it with me to refer to to track class and all that as well,
i guess in some ways it's found its use in different ways i didn't think of
rather than finely sticking to, you know,
usual Apps
i found unusual ways it's helping me i guess
(Patrick Adams) thank you very muck
