I was miserable.
I was sedentary.
I didn't feel well.
My feet hurt all the time.
I wasn't doing my job as well.
And I wasn't being a good mother.
When school started up, Healthy You said they were
doing Biggest Loser.
And I thought, wow, that's a really great way for me to
have some accountability.
Because they do weekly weigh-ins, and so I'm always
going to be careful.
I'm not going to be tempted to cheat.
My goal is to get down to 158 pounds, which will actually
put me below my wedding weight, by the time my
daughter starts kindergarten.
When I started, I was 316 pounds.
I've lost 85 pounds so far, which is over halfway.
It wasn't miraculous.
It didn't happen overnight.
When I would do zumba, I would have to stop sometimes two
times in the middle and take an emergency inhaler because I
could not breathe.
It's slow and steady.
And it took a long time for me to see any difference.
But when I finally started seeing differences, they've
been substantial.
I have not used my emergency inhaler since January.
My blood pressure is down significantly.
I went to my doctor and just got blood work back.
My glucose is fabulous.
My cholesterol is fabulous.
My blood work is great.
I just recently bought a size 14 dress.
And I was in a size 24 last year.
So they've been instrumental.
I just don't think I would be where I am now if it hadn't
been for Healthy You at EKU.
