Why and how you decided to be a brewer?
Hmmm.. Brewer I maybe became meanwhile on the way when I finished school
like for everyone I had the problem. Didn't know were to go, what university and what to study.
In the beginning I would like to go to non alcoholic beverages
but fortunately I end up in the cathedra of "fermentation processes"
well, I studied there. In the beginning I didn't drink beer, didn't liked it.
but from the 3rd year .
- You studied like ! =D
I started tasting it, getting interested, brewing at home, making home brew.
What types of beer you brew here?
Here we brew 4 permanent sorts of beer.
Pilsner, American Pale Ale, with american hopps of different sorts, hoppy, blanche or weizen, and stout.
also, meanwile, every 2 or 3 months, we have some seasonal beers.
Which ones, for example?
In the summer?
In the summer ... Right now we brewed Indian Pale Ale. British..
It is not of course for this season, but for summer
But on summer for example wheat sorts of blanche
So, show us your working place!
Now we are going to the brewhouse.
It's Anry, brewer from St. Peterburg.
Hello!
Worked in the brew restaurant Metropol, in St. Petersburg
Problem with sound, anyway, not very important for our video =D
So, our brewing volume is of 1000 liters
Here we make our wort, here we have our filtering chamber
Like in all brew houses!
Equipment from Austria, but made in the Netherlands
now wort with hopps for pilsner it's here on the whirlpool
after this the wort goes through the heat exchanger, it's pumped to the fermentation department
the yeast is layed and the fermentation process starts
that process goes, depending on the kind of beer, from 5 to 9 days
and after that, we have the process of maturation, that goes on in the same tanks
after that, when beer is ready, it is tasted
and when it is ready, it goes to these tanks.
from were it goes to the first and the second floor of the bar.
all our sorts of beer, except pilsner, are not filtered
pilsner we filter on this filter
we mount it when it's time for filtering and then we bring it back here
what else . . . .
hmmm.... secret stuff, not necessary to show it here =D
meanwhile we also have a device for filling mini kegs and bottles
So, I can buy a bottle of your beer and take it home, right?
Yes yes.
Oh yeah!
here we have the "fermentation department"
8 fermentators of 2000 litres
Thank you Oleg!
