Actually I should say Fisher chose me.
Because I am HEOP student. And HEOP is for students um to have the opportunity to come to Fisher who are either financially not able or who are academically not able.
It was small it was exactly what I was looking for and when I came here I fell in love with the people here. I talked with the faculty and um a few staff members and I really loved it.
I’m a business management major with a concentration in marketing and it took me a while to get there.
I started um undecided freshman year and then I moved to education
I thought I wanted to be a teacher, well turns out I didn’t want to be a teacher… so I thought I would just try history.
So I moved around a lot and I tried sociology and economics and I kind of just fell into marketing.
I love working with businesses and I like solutions and I like being creative.
My extracurricular activities have consisted of working on campus, I worked in the um AOPO office um which is the HEOP office its known as for my first two years at Fisher.
And I just kind of wanted to get my feet wet with knowing faculty around campus.
And so I tried there and then I, I had a great experience there but I wanted to get more experience on campus so I went to the events conferencing office at Fisher and I love it
I’ve worked there for two years now. And on top of that I have done an internship every semester and um at Fisher,
I have been involved with SWAV, Students With a Vision, it’s a volunteer organization on campus.
So I took on SWAV my sophomore year as treasurer and I just wanted to be involved with the club, I just wanted to help and be on e-board and get some leadership experience
and then I was on the board a semester and they asked me to be President so I have done that for the past two and a half years
and it was here I found my passion for volunteering and I continue to do that my senior year now um so I have worked with several organizations in the community.
My favorite meal on campus is Thursday um butter ranch chicken and I have a chai latte from cyber café every morning.
My favorite memory at Fisher would be when I went on a community service trip would be my favorite memory
because I got to meet a lot of different alum. It really opened my eyes that alumni are here for you.
And we also worked in another alums um food pantry which was a really cool experience.
